1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information CountDracula (the "App"), operated by Hayes McNeill, collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding it. The App is designed to work fully without an account — signing in is optional and only needed to sync your Blood Drops balance across devices or make a purchase.
2. Information We Collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you create an account | Sign-in identity, password reset |
| Gameplay stats & Blood Drops balance | Stored locally always; synced to our database only if signed in | Save your progress and currency balance across sessions/devices |
| Purchase records | Only when you buy Blood Vials | Prevent duplicate credit, provide support |
We never collect or store your full payment card number — that's handled entirely by Stripe (see Section 4).
3. How We Use Information
Information is used only to operate the App: authenticating your account, syncing your Blood Drops balance, crediting purchases, and providing support if you contact us. We do not sell your data.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on a small number of third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google) — account sign-in and data storage.
- Stripe — payment processing for Blood Vial purchases.
- Netlify — website and backend hosting.
These providers may process technical data (such as IP address) as part of standard hosting/security operations, independent of anything we specifically request.
5. Data Retention
Local gameplay data stays on your device until you clear it. Account data (email, synced balance) is retained until you request deletion or your account is otherwise removed.
6. Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing councilcomputing@gmail.com. You can also stop using an account entirely and continue using the App as a guest — all local gameplay data will remain on your device regardless.
7. Children's Privacy
CountDracula is intended for users 18 years of age and older, per our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard providers (Firebase, Stripe) that maintain their own security practices for the data they process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
